MD Alert app for iPhone and iPad

The MD Alert app is medical information and history application. It contains much of the data that youd see requested on a form when you visit a new doctor or an urgent care center -- birthdate, existing medical conditions, notes about those conditions or your medical history, allergies (to drugs, foods and environmental factors), medications youre taking, emergency contact (including relationship to you), doctors, insurance information, blood type, whether youre an organ donor your height and weight and a photo of you.

This is a great resource for emergency workers and first responders, particularly if you have serious or chronic medical conditions that could cause a collapse (hypoglycemia if youre diabetic, for example) or that could affect diagnosis and treatment. Its also a critical source of information on allergies you may have -- particularly allergies to medications or any allergy that can be severe or life-threatening -- because it increases the chances that your condition will be diagnosed appropriately and that treatment (like a dose of epinephrine for severe anaphylaxis) will be provided quickly.

RELIABLE NOTIFICATIONS: MD Alert reliably sends dose reminders to your phone, tablet or Android device.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING: Some apps can only remind you to take your medication at the same time every day. MD Alert helps you take doses on a daily/weekly/monthly schedule, every X days/weeks, only on certain days of the week, or even after a pre-set number of hours or days since the last dose.

CUSTOMIZABLE: Set the drug name, dosage information, directions, and notes for each dose.

PRIVATE AND SECURE: No personally identifiable information is collected when using MD Alert, so you can keep your information private. All drug information is encrypted, even when in transit, so using MD Alert is safe even from a public access point.

KNOWN ISSUE: this might seem obvious to some, but if you accidentally turn off the volume of your iPhone, you will only receive a vibrate alert. However, reminders will still appear on your home screen. This is a known limitation of the iPhone OS and is beyond our control.
